HushHold is being built with privacy first, and the waitlist collects as little as it can. This page explains what we hold, why we hold it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It is written for the pre-launch waitlist only, and it will be expanded into a fuller notice when the product itself goes live.
Who is responsible for your data
HushHold is a product of Escape Code Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14917418. Escape Code Limited is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any question about your data, you can reach us at privacy@hushhold.com.
What we collect
- Your email address. This is the only detail we ask you to type in, and it is what we use to email you about the launch.
- Your country. This is worked out automatically from the region of your connection by our infrastructure provider. It is coarse, it is not your precise location, and it helps us understand where interest is coming from.
- Two optional answers. After you join, you can tell us which service matters most in your home and what kind of device your child uses most. These are optional, and the waitlist works without them.
- A hashed form of your IP address. To keep the form from being abused, we turn your IP address into a one-way hash using a secret value. We do not store your raw IP address, and the hash cannot be turned back into it.
- The time you gave consent, and what you agreed to. We record when you joined, and the exact version of the consent wording that was shown on the form at that moment, so we have a clear record of your permission.
We do not ask for your child’s name, and you do not need to give a child’s age to join. If you choose to share more when you reply to one of our emails, for example a child’s age range, we hold what you send us and nothing more.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use your email to send you a small number of messages about the HushHold launch and early access, and to give you founding-family pricing when we open. We use the optional answers and the country signal, in aggregate, to decide what to build first. We use the hashed IP address only to prevent abuse of the sign-up form.
Our lawful basis for the launch emails is your consent. You give it by joining the waitlist after reading the consent notice shown on the form, and we record both the time and the exact wording you agreed to. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and every email we send carries an unsubscribe link.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the website, runs the sign-up bot check, provides cookieless analytics, and stores the waitlist database, on UK and EU infrastructure.
- Zoho Mail handles email sent to and from our HushHold addresses.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
There is no cookie banner here because there are no marketing cookies to consent to. The choice of which page version you see, and any campaign tags from a link you followed, are stored in your browser’s local storage so the sign-up works, and they stay on your device. Our analytics is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until launch plus twelve months, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. After that, we remove them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. You can withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, email privacy@hushhold.com and we will action it.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Where your data is handled
Your data is handled in the United Kingdom and the European Union by the providers named above. If you join from the United States or anywhere else, your details are still processed on that same United Kingdom and European Union infrastructure, and we protect them to the same standard wherever you live. As HushHold approaches launch in the United States, this notice will be expanded to set out your rights under the privacy laws that apply to you.
Changes to this notice
We may update this page as HushHold moves toward launch. When we do, we will change the date at the top.
