What is HushHold?
A parental-control service that works at the network level rather than on the device. You choose which services (Roblox, YouTube, TikTok and more) your child’s device can reach, and you change that in seconds from any browser on your phone or computer.
Is it an app?
No. You use it from any browser on your phone or computer, like your online banking. There is nothing to download for you, and no app running on your child’s device.
Can I set times, or is it only on and off?
You can do both. Switch a service off or back on in the moment, or set a schedule that runs on its own. Many parents keep Roblox off through the school day and homework and off at bedtime, then let it come back at a set time. You set the routine once and it holds without you having to be there.
Can both parents control it?

Screen Time is free. Why pay for HushHold?
Screen Time is free and worth setting up. But rules are easy to set and hard to keep. In one US study, 86% of parents set screen rules and only 55% managed to enforce them. Passcodes get guessed, clocks get changed, things get deleted and reinstalled. HushHold lives off the device, so there is no passcode to crack and nothing on their phone to delete.
What about VPNs?
A VPN is the classic way past a filter, so HushHold blocks the VPN and proxy services kids typically reach for. They tap connect and nothing happens. No filter can honestly promise to catch every trick, but this closes the most common one, and it is the door most screen-time tools leave open.
Do I have to install anything on my child’s device?
There is a one-time setup on each child’s device, about two minutes, and we walk you through it. After that, everything is remote and nothing runs on their device.
Could I accidentally cut off something important?
No. Emergency, health and other critical services always stay reachable, even when you pause everything else. HushHold is built so a child is never cut off from safety.
Which devices?
iPhone and iPad at launch, with Android coming later. HushHold works on a child’s phone or tablet, not on games consoles such as a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation or Xbox, and not on smart TVs. Tell us what your family uses when you join. It genuinely shapes what we build first.
Can my child earn extra time?
If you want them to, yes. An optional reward chart lets a child earn time on the services you choose, banked as minutes to spend later. It is entirely optional and set per child, off until you switch it on, so families who do not want it never see it.
What will it cost?

Is my family’s data private?
Yes, and by design rather than by promise. We build to United Kingdom GDPR as our baseline, and every family gets those same protections wherever they live. HushHold is not a surveillance tool. We control which services a device can reach. We never read messages, see photos, or keep a history of the pages your child visits, and the system is not built to store any of that.
